Panel 3
Transparency along the EI value chain — Elements of a comprehensive approach
This panel will present the extractive industries value chain and discuss the challenges for transparency in each step.
An important element of a comprehensive approach to transparency is the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), which focuses on public revenue and the private sector.
The benefits that transparency and the EITI process can have on sustainable development and the vested interest of civil society on the one hand and the private sector on the other will be discussed.
